COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

At HMD Landscaping, we’re dedicated to providing exceptional service while prioritizing environmental sustainability and compliance with local regulations. Today, we want to inform you about an upcoming change that will impact both our operations and the landscaping industry in Baltimore City.

Recently, the Baltimore City Council voted to ban the use of gas-powered blowers within the city limits, and the bill was signed by the Mayor in late November. In light of this mandate and in alignment with our commitment to environmental stewardship, HMD Landscaping is transitioning all of our handheld equipment to electric alternatives. This shift allows us to not only comply with the new regulations but also reduce noise pollution and minimize our carbon footprint.

While this change is an important step toward a cleaner and greener future, it does come with increased costs. Electric equipment and the necessary infrastructure for charging and maintenance represent a significant investment. Unfortunately, the city is not offering any incentives or subsidies to the landscaping industry to financially support this initiative. As a result, there may be adjustments to our service pricing to account for these upgrades. Please know that we are carefully evaluating every aspect to ensure these changes are managed as efficiently as possible while maintaining the high-quality service you’ve come to expect from us.
